This is the route over to Ouray. The first part through Colorado National Monument is the only part of this trip that I have not ridden before so I'm looking forward to it.

Early morning in the park.

A zoomed in look at the scene above.

One of the deep canyons in the park.

Jamie just outside the Visitor Center.

Me at the same location.

Nancy and Richard at the same location.

The Visitor Center.

The bikes at the Visitor Center.

Parked at a little diner in Gateway on Highway 141. This is a fun road to ride. It has long sweeper after sweeper for 100 miles. It's great.

View across the road from the diner in Gateway.

The diner is in the background.

They have a Biker Burger but we didn't order it because it's a half pound of meat. More than we wanted for lunch. We had the regular cheeseburger and it was very good.

Nancy and Richard waiting for their burgers.

Jamie and I waiting for our burgers.

This poster was for sale but I cheated and just took a picture of it.

Another poster. I think this place gets a lot of motorcycle riders stop by so they decorate to appease them.

I walked back a ways to get a photo of the city name and it's background.

This is the diner where we ate. You can barely make out Richard in the window on the right side.

The Dolores River canyon.

A portion of the old hanging flume from years ago. This was built as an aqueduct to carry water the opposite direction of the river to the mines in the area.

The canyon looking the opposite direction.

Another shot of the flume.

Jamie with the flume in the background.

Now me.

One more photo of the canyon.

I think Jamie is thinking about gettin on and leaving me.

Our motel in Ouray. This was really a nice place and it's right downtown. Park 'em and walk.

Looking down the main street from our motel.

This is looking down one of the side streets.

This is the Beaumont Hotel directly across the street from us. It's been accurately restored and is very nice but expensive.

We ate dinner at the Western Hotel. It's been in operation longer than any other business in Ouray. I thinks it's been in continuous operation since 1891.

Nancy at our table in the bar. The bar is actually the dining room.

This painting is on the floor directly in front of the bar. They said it has been touched up over the years and has polyurathane over it to protect it. Some guy painted it of some woman he was in love with.

This painting is on the wall behind the bar. It's not the same woman as painted on the floor, but I just found it interesting.

Ouray late in the evening. I took this while we were walking around after dinner.

While everyone was in an ice cream shop I was waiting outside when two buck deer came trotting down the street. I barely got my camera turned on in time to zoom in on them so the focus isn't very good.
