around the world for their superior blood line of quarter horses.

Second third of route for Day One (Clovis, New Mexico was approximately two-thirds of the way)

We
decided to meet at a RaceTrac gas station near my home in Willow Park.
I arrived first and took this picture of my bike in the dark. The reflectors seem to work well.
Mark arrived shortly after I did and filled up with gas. Then we took off.
It
started to rain just past Guthrie. We had to stop and put on our rain
gear. This road side park was convenient since it had a covered table.
Another shot at the road side park. It doesn't look like it's going to break any time soon.
This is the covered table where we changed. It's alot of trouble to completely change gear.
It finally quit raining after 130 miles. This is Littlefield where we gassed up and changed back to our mesh riding suits.
This
is two miles from the New Mexico border where we are parked on the side
of the road to receive our speeding tickets from the Texas Highway
Patrol. Can't believe I didn't get a picture of him. He wrote both of
us a ticket for 85mph, which is 15mph over the limit.

Mark at the New Mexico border.
This is near Las Vegas, NM. We're gonna get wet again. Back to our rain gear.
Stopped here just before Las Vegas to get a quick picture and put on my rain covers which I forgot before.
This
is the most unique rainbow I've ever seen. It appeared to be almost on the ground.
I zoomed in for this picture, but it looked to be only about a
half mile away. This is from the service road of Interstate 25 about 5
miles south of Las Vegas.
Now
we're getting to some pretty country. This is on the road between Las
Vegas and Taos. This is a great motorcycle road which I've ridden it several
times, but never get tired of it.
Another
shot from the same place as the photo above. Hopefully no more rain
between here and Taos, although we're still prepared in our rain gear.
| This
is taken standing in the doorway of my room at the Best Western Kachina
Lodge in Taos. By the time we showered, it had gotten dark and I didn't
take any more pictures. We walked down the street and ate at a 'make
believe' Mexican restaurant. Nowhere else does real Mexican (Tex-Mex)
food like we do in Texas.
After dinner we just went back to our rooms and crashed for
the evening. It was a long ride with alot rain. However, we were
looking forward to tomorrow.
