Route for Day Five. (This route took us through Glacier National Park.)

Morning in Hamilton, Montana. Once again, I've already removed my cover.

Looking north on the main street in Hamilton. We stayed at another near new Best Western with very reasonable rates.

Mark's up removing his cover. The haze in the background is smoke.

Dirt road on the way to Glacier. We didn't have the best dirt bikes.

Looking north, it's still a dirt road.

This is Flathead Lake. It's the most clear lake I've ever seen. Mark's standing on a small pier we found at a pull over on the side of the road.

Another picture of me at Flathead.

As I said, the water was very clear. It's probably 12-15 deep here.

You can see how the smoke made it very hazy and really reduced our visibility.

This little stream is emptying into the lake near the pier we found.

We're almost to our ultimate destination. This is the little village of West Glacier where we stopped for a drink of water.

These guys were out for a day ride. They are from Alberta, Canada. How lucky can you be to live this close to such good riding?

I had to get a picture of Mark at this sign.

This is the official west entrance to the park.

Lake McDonald is just inside the west entrance.

This is the Kennedy's from Plano, TX which is in the DFW area. They are OU fans, therefore the 'horns down' sign because we were wearing Texas Longhorn stuff. We'll see who wins at the Cotton Bowl in October.

They took a picture of Mark and myself if front of a waterfall. Looks like I need to go on a diet. I'll do that later when we get back.

Mark is checking to see how cold the water is. It's pretty cold.

Another angle of the waterfall we were in front of earlier.

It's so smokey that you can barely see the little snow patch in this photo.

A typical scene along this road.

Lots of snow, just filtered by the smoke.

One of a couple of tunnels we rode through.

We've already been on the road below.

Great road.

This would be awesome without the smoke.

A little more snow.

If you try real hard, you can see a yellow Goldwing towing a trailer in the center of this shot.

There are some gorgeous mountains in this park.

See.

A shot from Logan Pass Visitor Center.

Motorcycle parking is right up front. My bike wants to go back now. So does Mark's.

Some info on the park.

This is behind the visitor center. The path goes all the way to base of this mountain which is 3 miles away. We didn't do it, not enough time.

A unique mountain peak.

Another great view just before we go through another tunnel.

A waterfall high up on a bluff.

The lower portion of the same waterfall.

Another waterfall just in front of us.

Sorry you can't read this, but it tells about how the glaciers are slowly receding.

You can barely see the glacier in the center of this photo.

In the center of this picture there is a bear on its hind legs eating berries. There's actually two. You really have to look hard and use your imagination to see the other one just above and left of the one in the center. We could tell there were two because the branches were moving.

That's a very small island in the lake with two or three trees on it.
