This was a great trip and these pages contain over 230 photos along with maps of each day's route. Neither Mark nor myself had ever been to Glacier National Park. We had been to Montana on our previous bikes before, but not that far north. Everything went well on the trip with no mechanical problems or accidents. We did go thru quiet a bit of rain, but that's to be expected in the mountains. This trip would have been over 4500 miles but the weather prevented us from going thru Rocky Mountain National Park, plus we had to detour to get a new rear tire for Mark's bike.
We did alot of advance planning for this trip. We considered several different routes and emailed numerous maps back and forth to each other. We used Microsoft Streets and Trips to do our route planning and those maps are shown here at the beginning of each day's page. Once we decided on each day's route we would then draw them again in Garmin's MapSource software so we could transfer them to our Garmin GPS units. Each morning we would have the GPS units calculate and navigate that day's route so we never made a mistake on which road to take. We didn't even take a paper map with us.
As I said earlier we had a great time on this trip. We saw alot of super scenery, had some great food and met some nice motorcycle folks.
