ST-Texas - Granbury Loop 0509

This is a loop my wife and I took to get her a little time on the bike. We were planning a weekend trip in a couple of weeks so we wanted to get her used to riding. Plus I had just installed a passenger backrest and we wanted to see how it worked. So we mapped out a short loop and planned to eat lunch in Granbury.

We rode from home down through Lipan then over to Bluff Dale. Once out of Weatherford these are some nice roads. Lots of neat rolling country. From Bluff Dale we took a long route up to Granbury where we had lunch. From there she was ready to go home, so we took a back road back to Weatherford and then home. Overall it was a nice ride with a good lunch in Granbury.

This is the route for the day. The road from Lipan to Bluff Dale was the best.

This was just south of Weatherford. I saw him way out in the pasture as we riding along. I stopped to try to get a picture. As soon as we stopped he started walking toward us. He was very gentle and just wanted some attention.

Another picture of our new friend. He was so big he could just walk through the chain link fence if he wanted to.

He liked my wife.

These longhorns were in the same pasture but never raised their heads so I could get a good picture.

This is the Hood County courthouse in Granbury.

This is where we ate lunch just off the square. It's pretty good Mexican food and we sat out on the patio.
