The following is a recap of a weekend trip my wife and I took to Taylor, TX to meet my sister and brother-in-law who live in Spring, TX for a little ride. They have been riding for a few years but we had just never met up for a ride together. So we had both read articles in Texas Monthly and Ride Texas about Louie Mueller BBQ in Taylor. Both magazines gave it a very good rating and recommended it highly.

As we rode down, I was looking forward to Muellers for a couple of reasons: one, it was fairly hot and I was looking forward to sitting in air conditioning for a while and two, I was looking forward to some good BBQ. Well disapointment on both counts. The place is not air conditioned and the BBQ is nothing to write home about. The building offers a really neat atmosphere. It's really old and has a lot of nostalgia. However, I think you could ride to a BBQ place within a couple of miles of your house and get BBQ every bit as good. It's just not anything special and the sauce was pitiful. It's just not worth a special ride to there in my opinion because there's not much esle there to see and do and again the BBQ's not worth it.

This is the route for our ride down to Taylor. We took about the shortest route possible in order to get there for lunch.

My wife, Jamie having some iced tea at our first rest stop in Meridian. She hasn't been riding much so she was ready for a break.

This is the Meridian Court House just across the street from where we stopped.

This is a shot of downtown Meridian across from the court house.

I always have to get a picture of the bike in.

This is downtown Crawford, TX where ex-president George W. Bush has his ranch. We didn't see him in town though.

Our destination. As I said earlier we were disapointed in the place, but it is a neat old building with an interesting atmosphere.

After we ate, we rode over to Georgetown to the Honda dealer. My sister, Nancy and brother-in-law, Richard are thinking about getting a Goldwing so we rode over to look at some.

Here's my sister and brother-in-law when we arrived at the Honda dealer. They were riding a Yamaha so they didn't park up close.
